MICH-CAL BOBBIE CARS

Mich_Cal_bobbie_cars.cdp - 3.0mb

models by Rich Blake (slugmasher)

Michigan-California 36in gauge bobbie car set. These small disconnect cars were used by the Mich-Cal to transfer rough cut lumber from Pino Grande to the box factory at Camino in El Dorado county California from 1887-1940. Their small size allowed transport of lumber over the cable tram system across the American River gorge. Brakes were applied individually by poles fitted into sockets on the sideframes of the cars. According to records, these cars were never used to haul logs, only cut lumber and various other items later in their life.

This set includes seven separate cars with roosters to connect them together. They are high detail but have been poly reduced from earlier versions, (each car is a max of about 5000 polys or less). The kuids for the cars are as follows:

86661:15018 - dc_lumbercar (typical plank load)

86661:15019 - dc_transfer_truck (single empty bobby car truck)

86661:15020 - dc_rooster (used to connect bobbie cars together)

86661:15021 - dc_idler (single bobbie car with tools on it, used to provide spacing betweeen loco and loads for safety)

86661:15022 - dc_rooster_loco (used to connect bobbie cars direct to locos)

86661:15024 - dc_lumbercar_2 (typical beam load)

86661:15025 - dc_tankcar_1 (old weathered tank mounted on bobbie car set)

Note that these are not moveable wagons. They are a scenery spline that can be laid over the track and are ideal for filling up unused sidings without having to use high poly wagons.
